demographic strain

demographic strain
   too many people
Demography is the study of population statistics, but this phrase does not mean that your eyes ache from reading too many censuses. It is taboo, as well as being simplistic and offensive, to suggest that poor countries face starvation because ignorant people breed too fast and medical science allows too many to survive.
